The Life and Times of Sitting Bull
The Life and Times of Sitting Bull
12 June – 8 November 2009
Sitting Bull is perhaps the best-known Indian. His reputation was beefed up by the rising press of the day, which made him a ‘superstar’ of his time. He was sometimes portrayed as a warrior and a troublemaker, sometimes a ‘Holy Man’.
The life story of Sitting Bull displayed by the Vapriikki exhibition provides an opportunity to learn about the life of this great Indian chief and about the culture of the Plains Indians, as well as the changes this culture has undergone.
