– 80 Years of the Häme Racing Club 10 November — 3 June 2012
The Pyynikki Road Racing motorcycle race was held in Tampere 34 times during 1932—1939 and 1946—1971. Many well known motorcycling superstars of the time took part in the Pyynikki races, including Jim Redman, Mike Hailwood and Jarno Saarinen. Over 500,000 people came to see the race during its 40-year history.
The Pyynnikki Race was organized by the Häme Racing Club, who celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2011. The exhibition tells the story of the demanding race, its motorbikes, and the riders, and makes the race an interesting experience. The exhibition also presents other activities of the Häme Racing Club, including motocross, speedway, enduro and trial racing, and it displays 27 beautifully restored vintage motorcycles.
